Personality/Background: Jaiden was born of Aboriginal decent on his mother's side, however he takes more after his European Australian father in looks. This is indicated by his red hair and his tall height. And yet, his maternal grandparents took one look at him at birth and claimed that he was more like one of the Mob than his father was. Jaiden is the youngest child of his parents as well as the only son. Because of this, and because no one in the family thought that he would make it through the pregnancy, Jaiden was seen as a gift sent from above.
As he grew older, Jaiden wanted to know everything he could about his ancestors and his family heritage. And his grandparents were more than happy to impart their life lessons. This included stories on the native animals. The story about the numbat particularly stuck with Jaiden to the point where, after reaching high school, he essentially willed himself to become one. What he did not realise, however, was that he was being watched by Anjiti of the Rebels Gang, who just happened to be walking past him at the time. Whether or not Anjiti had helped in the transformation remains unknown.
Anjiti watched the teen for quite some time after her chance passing and often talked with the other members of the Rebels over extending an invitation to join the gang. Only, whenever she went to talk with Jaiden, he would often spook for some reason or another and thus avoid the older morpher. It took a talk with Barega Lutari, a dingo morpher and fellow Aboriginal, for Anjiti to be able to even get close to Jaiden. At first, Jaiden declined the invitation, not completely understanding what being in a gang of morphers would mean for him. His decision was accepted but the offer was still left open in the off chance that he changed his mind. And change his mind he did.
It happened on his way home from school shortly after the meeting, in his later years of high school. Jaiden was alone and found himself faced with members of rival gang The Vipers. The attack, for that was what it was, was brutal and offensive on many levels for him, being objected to racial slurs and harmful threats for even talking to a high ranking member of the Rebels Gang. Out of fear, Jaiden found himself morphing into his numbat form in order to try and get away. That was when he was physically beaten. Before he blacked out from the pain, he distinctively remembered hearing a number of animals growling and a golden blur. His rescuers, he later found out, were Barega, Anjiti and a number of other Rebels members who had been out on patrol. After that shake up, Jaiden asked for a rethink on his pervious answer and was warmly welcomed as a member of the Rebels.
Jaiden didn't discover he was homosexual until a particular Physical Education lesson started making him ask questions about himself. On occasion, Jaiden's confusion would show and he would be approached by other members of the Rebels. And every time he tried to express his thoughts to that person, he quickly found that they knew exactly what was going on inside him. Surprisingly, it was Lynk Haythen who gave a name to what it was Jaiden was trying to figure out... and the numbat morpher found himself feeling lighter about the discovery. A couple of months later, Jaiden found himself falling in love with fellow student Clint Tanner.
Clint was a lovely young man who accepted Jaiden for what he was and was willing to stand by him through anything even though he was not a morpher himself. Yet every time Jaiden transformed around his boyfriend, he would always sense that something was terribly wrong. A few months into their relationship, Jaiden's fears were realised when Clint fell terribly ill. It was found that Clint had cancer and sadly, after a year of being together, Jaiden watched as his boyfriend took his final breath. It had been Clint's dying wish to have Jaiden curled up by his side as a numbat so that the native spirits could guide him to his afterlife. This devastated Jaiden to the point where he stayed at home for months and would not leave. Not even his elders could get him to move. Once again Barega made an appearance and somehow managed to get through to Jaiden. He returned to the outside world but it took years before he felt ready to fall in love again.
Jaiden met his future partner, Morris Wilburforth, at the local Cancer Council Relay For Life event, a charity event that raises money for cancer research. The two got to talking about why they were at the event and, though they were saddened by each others losses, they found a friendship within each other. From that event, the two would get together as friends but it quickly became common knowledge that they were starting to form feelings for each other. It was Jaiden who asked to take things a step further to which Morris agreed, happily becoming the numbat morpher's boyfriend. The two never did marry or adopt any children on their own, but they stayed together until their dying days.
