Personality/Background: Jono is the only child of an Australian-Spanish mother and Mexican-American father. His father immigrated to Australia as a child after his own mother fled America due to prejudice for being a 'Mexican half-cast' herself. Since he was a child, Jono always liked playing with dinosaur toys, his favourite toys being an orange and yellow plastic stegosaurus he dubbed 'Steg' and a hand puppet of Spike from the Land Before Time movie series. Never in his life would he believe that when he turned 16, Jono would become the very creature that he loved. For the opportunity arose for a select few from his area to be given the ability to morph into anything they wanted as a trial for a new discovery. Of course, his parents had some reservations to the choice, but they ultimately decided to go ahead with the morphing injection. Thus Jono found himself with a stegosaurus morph... and he couldn't be more pleased at what he got.
It wasn't until after moving to Mythos Island from mainland Australia and joining the Rebels Ancients that Jono made a new friend in fellow morpher, Sergio Simms. Sergio was a Utahraptor morpher who had been born into the circus... something that Jono absolutely loved going to see. In fact, the two became quite good friends over their circus connects, which evolved into much more. It was during Jono's third time watching Sergio performing that the stegosaurus morpher realised that he loved his best friend. The discovery sent his mind into a bit of a panic thanks to him starting to fear that his strength, clumsiness and 'dumbness' would scare the, in his terms, rather amazing boy away. He wasn't sure which one of the other friends the two shared managed to get through to him and get him to talk to Sergio about it, but Jono quickly found himself glad that they did. Because it turned out that Sergio kind of felt the same way.
The two married in America at the age of 23 and then again once same sex marriage laws were accepted in Australia. The circus that Sergio worked with even accepted Jono into their own family and, after seeing his skills on a motorcycle, even managed to work those skills into a new circus routine. As for Jono's parents, after seeing how happy their son was with his life, they realised just how proud they were of him and what he had grown up into, something they didn't know for certain until they had watched his first performance with his husband and within his new job/home. And the fact that they were proud of him meant that Jono was proud of himself.
After the success of Jono's first circus show, it was decided that Jono and Sergio were going to adopt some children of their own. In a span of two years between the adoptions, they adopted two boys. The elder of the two was named Adam and, as he was already seven at the time of adoption, he wasn't so sure about circus life or living with morphers. Both of his fathers were patient with him, however, and Jono even helped him learn some of the more basic circus requirements while Sergio was doing more advanced things. There was even the option given for Adam to get his own morph after it was proven that neither Sergio nor Jono were going to hurt him whilst in their morphs. Admittedly, it took a little bit for Adam to feel comfortable with his new family, but once he was comfortable, Jono couldn't have been more happier that his first child was happy with his new life.
The second child came to Jono and Sergio as a baby and so the two were able to choose a name for their new son. It was Jono's idea to suggest Adam help chose the name of his new baby brother. That name was Crystober, a combination of the name 'Christopher' (which Sergio was hoping for), a variation of the same name that Jono had been thinking about, and Adam's choice of 'Tiber' which he got after re-reading his favourite fantasy/mythology series. Needless to say, any fears that Jono had of Adam rejecting Crystober were quickly smashed into the ground after he saw the twelve year old trying to get the almost one year old to walk towards a morphed Sergio and with a massive smile on his face as he was holding onto the baby's hands.
